The Algerian Muslim Scouts section saw a large response from visitors during its outstanding contribution at the thirteenth International Book Fair, which was held under the devoted attention of his Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelaziz Bouteflika, and in coordination with the Ministries of Communication and of Culture, the Elaanib company and in association with its partners Safex – Senal at its exhibition centre, with the slogan this year of ‘Read Me A Book’, at the Exhibition Centre in Les Pins Maritimes, Algiers, with its doors open to the general public from the 27th of October 2008 until the 5th of November 2008.

The participation of the scouts for the first time at the exhibition was represented by the new publication in the series of the scouting educational curriculum, which took its first step with its Islamic education book, along with brochures introducing the scouting movement and the history of scouting, enabling the Algerian Muslim Scouts to make its presence felt amongst 120 thousand titles brought this year from numerous publishing houses, including national, Arab and international ones.

In chatting with some citizens of different ages and from different groups, all of whom valued the effort, considering the educational publications an essential and important resource for children and youths within the ranks of scouting regiments, as it is aimed towards their instruction, and is a source of unity for all the children of the scouts during the process of training and learning through implementation. Some parents also emphasised that the book was a founding stone and a long lasting basis for their children in the area of informative educational instruction within the scouting movement.
