During the period of the 16th to the 23rd of January 2009, the Algerian Muslim Scouts will host an international meeting of delegates – accompanied by their assistants – from Arab nations. According to Scout Commander Abdelrezak Khathiri, the National Director of the Office of International Relations with the Media Division allied to the General Command of the Algerian Muslim Scouts, the meeting will be the first of its kind to be hosted by the Algerian Muslim Scouts and included in its calendar of international activities. It was agreed upon at the last Arab Scout conference held in Cairo, with the expectation of 30 international delegates from different Arab regions and their assistants, in addition to honoured guests from international scouting regions. The aim of this meeting is to develop a unified strategy for international relations divisions, and will include the definition of new horizons for scouting work at the international level. The program also includes a meeting with different national media representatives, and the presentation of the experiences of the Algerian Muslim Scouts in the area of convict reintegration, in addition to a visit to the historic landmarks which Algeria is full of, as well as meetings with a collection of concerned ministries.
