In the framework of the signed agreement between the National Office to Erase Illiteracy and Educate the Elderly and the Algerian Muslim Scouts, a coordinative meeting was held with the aim of implementing the contents of the National Strategy to Erase Illiteracy and Educate the Elderly, at the start of the academic year of 2008/2009. Commitment to the necessity of implementing the agreement has been given at local and provincial levels, in coordination with Principles of centres, to ensure the success of the entrance program and to provide the greatest possible number of illiterate people with class places, also acknowledging that the Ministry of Employment and Social Solidarity has dedicated many positions for university graduates, with the intention of remedying unemployment problems caused by a lack of available positions. In turn, we call upon all provincial leaders involved in the scheme to erase illiteracy at provincial protectorates, to become acquainted with Principles of centres with the National Office to Erase Illiteracy and Educate the Elderly, with the aim of benefiting from the time given to them by providing a register of the names of Scout Commanders who will be selected to supervise over classes to erase illiteracy, as well as places to teach, so that they will receive specific positions, and a number of educational books in the areas of Arabic language and arithmetic for level one. We also request that we be provided with end of term reports on the scheme, in order to evaluate the operation of class entrance.
